Why Can’t I See Publisher Champ Daily Royalties Beyond 90 Days Ago?
Understanding Limitations in Amazon Ads and Facebook Ads APIs
At Publisher Champ, one of our key features is a suite of powerful graphs and charts that help you compare royalties earned against ad spend—essential for optimizing your publishing business. These insights are available on our Dashboard and Book Stats pages
To fetch your ad data, we rely on public APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) provided by Amazon Ads and Facebook Ads. Think of APIs as digital storefronts: we send a request to these storefronts on your behalf, and they return ad spend data, which we display on our platform.
However, we’re limited by how these APIs deliver data. Both Amazon Ads and Facebook Ads APIs allow us to retrieve daily ad spend data for only the past 90 days. Beyond that, the data is aggregated monthly, meaning specific daily ad spend data for dates beyond 90 days simply isn’t accessible—not even to us.
What About Daily Royalties Data?
Our goal is to display your royalties and ad spend data in a way that provides meaningful, actionable insights. Unfortunately, due to the API limitations mentioned earlier, plotting daily royalties against static, aggregated monthly ad spend data would lead to inaccurate or misleading visualizations. We want to ensure that the data you see is as accurate and insightful as possible.
Will This Change in the Future?
If these limitations ever change, we’ll be ready. The moment Amazon Ads or Facebook Ads APIs allow us to access daily ad spend data beyond 90 days, we’ll implement historical daily royalties vs. ad spend comparisons on our platform.
We actively monitor updates to both APIs and are committed to staying at the forefront of independent publishing analytics. At Publisher Champ, we’re proud to lead the way in leveraging cutting-edge tools to support your publishing success.
